I Failed at Travel Journaling
And that's fine! I was able to journal my first day traveling in Mexico City, but as the trip went on—coming back to the apartment late, meeting new people for food/drinks, etc—I found it hard to have the energy to type out my thoughts and feelings of each day on my phone or iPad.
Maybe I should try an actual physical journal while on a trip for typing it to the blog afterwards. Or maybe journaling while traveling isn't meant for me. I definitely want to blog about travel—I have blog post ideas for stories that happened on trips over the years, like lessons and romances, and eventually want a travel section on this site to house my favorite photos (to further separate from Instagram). But as for day-today journals while on the move? It's difficult for me, especially as I'm soaking up so many new experiences in that moment. Hell, even journaling every day from home needs a form of commitment.
I was tempted to delete my single Mexico City journal entry, but I'll leave it up as a memory of my effort of journaling and as a reminder that giving something the 'ole college try and not feeling it is all part of the journey.
