Sunday
It was a very fun weekend, but it also took me to my limit of social energy. Ahhh, so is the life of an introvert and the need to recharge.
My cycling buddy Alex, who moved to DC in 2023, surprisingly was in town and got a few of us boys together for KBBQ. Afterwards, one of my buddies from the outing and I did a few more drinks at my favorite neighborhood dive.
Saturday was the annual holiday video call hang with my DnD friends, followed by a Saturday gym session and poker night with some other friends.
In all these hangouts, I’ve started telling folks it’s looking like I’ll be moving next month, which is nice to get out there. I also probably had a few too many drinks, mainly at poker night. It made today an absolutely lazy recharge day, but my introvert self was socially drained and needed it.
With only getting laundry done, I capped off the weekend by rewatching You’ve Got Mail (1998). It has some holiday scenes, but it probably doesn’t count as a Christmas movie. I’m thinking of possibly watching the film it’s a remake of, The Shop Around the Corner (1940). We’ll see how I’m feeling.
