Caught the Scrubs revival and wowwwwww, it was so good! That sitcom was my comfort show when I was 18-19 year old, aka my "dark times" in life: zero friends, working at a Target's graveyard shift at night, and going to a media arts college in the day....that I dropped out of after a year. It was definitely one of my loneliest life stages before changing part-time jobs (a movie theater), changing schools (LACC's film program), and finding a community (The Smell/Pehrspace music scene).
Just as I was writing that paragraph, it made me realize I always turned to comedy during hard times for comfort just as much as I turn to comedy happily during good times. I put Scrubs up there with Seinfeld and Frasier as my favorite sitcoms, but it has some special points because it could get quite dramatic and moving (e.g., the Brendan Fraser episodes), as well as really introducing me to a lot of different bands and musicians. And it feels like my "OG comedy", as I got into Frasier in more recent years. On top of that, Scrubs gets extra points because Donald Faison was one two major famous baldie heroes when I was contemplating letting go of my thinning hair and turning into my final form, head-wise.
Again, super glad the Scrubs revival is solid so far in all it's sharp writing, dramatic, and silly glory.
