Wednesday
Made my first major overhaul of the blog in 2026: renaming my Notes page to Microblog. They both basically mean the same thing, and while Notes gave me a cleaner main navigation, I like Microblog more. It may seem like a small change, but it took a lot of re-tagging individual posts. I write these kinds of posts the most frequently, and I knew the longer I put it off, the more work it would become as more microposts piled up.
I also removed the Notes/Microblog Archive for now, and I’ll bring it back if the archive truly gets big. The idea is to eventually separate each Microblog page by year. Since those posts are mostly photos and memories from fun and memorable days, I want them to become a way for me to reminisce about previous years gone by in the future when interneting with a bottle of wine. Since this blog only started in 2025, things aren’t cluttered enough yet to necessitate linking a full archive page.
The Microblog now has a very minimal sub-navigation under the main navigation, and I have to say, I really like the way it looks.
Bear Blog house cleaning aside, I've been getting inspired by people's Neocities pages recently. I love the Angelfire/Geocities energy from a lot of them—reminds me of my e-fed days in middle school. And I also love ones like Absurd Pirate's Myspace recreation, which I really want to do as well. It's rainy next weekend—this might be the perfect chance to play around on Neocities and get weird!
